Today is Independence Day in my home Country! Today is Freedom Day in my home Nation! Today we remember our Liberation Day from the colonial Master in the face of Government by Force measuring colonialism and slavery in bondage! Today we say we are free! We are free from them. We are free to know for ourselves and by ourselves. We are free to do and administer ourselves. We are free from the Northerlies and southerlies. We are free from the Westerly and Easterlies. We are free from modern slavery and pressures. We are free from the implications and consequent racism. We are free from everyday chains, burdens carrying , whips , horrors , pains , rigors of unstoppable weeping, sorrowing and anticipating hopes of ‘ when shall we be freed ? When shall we have peace? We have been freed from everyday arrests and manhandling followed by undue prosecution. We are free from noonday and midnight terrors - half being rest and half being awake ready for escape from tax collectors as imposed by force of the kakis and tax masters. We are free from tyranny and everyday disturbances. We are free from powers, principalities, Military juntas and rulers of darkness and wickedness of this universe. We are free in God. We are free through God. We are free for God. We are free from running marathon race and frog jumps with wobbling legs and over stressed courage to keep on moving. We are free from unlawful killings and everyday facing of panels of firing squads without a crime been committed. We are free from dictations, oppressions and wrong applications of the justice of the law. We are free from social, school and societal segregation of classes and status - an apartheid of the day doldrums. We are free from the battering of batons and hits of guns irrespective of agonizing shouts and wailing from the victims of circumstances. We are free from bans and restrictions of rights and movement. We are free from economic sabotage and paralysis. We are free from total marginalization by foreigners in our own region, country - the worst of all. We are free from foreign government. We are duly free for mean times and seasons. We are free to work and move round about our country unhindered. We are free to speak our minds, choose our rulers and elect our leaders. We are free to support and develop our nation. We are free to serve and worship our God. We are free to serve our Fatherland and help our government. We are free to change our country for the better to be the best among all nations. We are duly free to change our character, attitude, behaviors, cultures and traditions for the better and best of our common good purposes and well-being. We are free to have and live meaningful peace. We are free to be happy, joyful to celebrate and enjoy our country, where we all bake the national cake together and eat it together. We are free to apprehend, prosecute and punish crimes and criminals staling our country. We are free to rule ourselves by ourselves for ourselves in love, peace, unity, equity, joy, Good faith, better hope, progress, planning, good execution of the better policies and promises made for our future generations. Let us not enslave our INDEPENDENCE! Let us not cage our FREEDOM! So we are free! We are free in deed! GOD BLESS MY COUNTRY NIGERIA--------------------------- AMEN. [PUT YOUR COUNTRY’S NAME HERE].
