The River State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) is a strategic intervention initiative of the Rivers State Government of Nigeria set up by law. The Agency has established the Workmanship & Technical Training Centre (WTTC) located in Bori, accreditation from London City and Guilds and NABTEC Nigeria.
CIVIL TECHNICIAN (Wood/Furniture Design)
Reference Indicator: CT-WFD /WTTC
- Help the Civil Instructor in safe working practices, to acquiring a Technical Certificate and or City & Guilds International Vocational Qualification up to a Level 3 Curriculum
- Help Civil Instructor with objective of progressing the Trainees to the desired level of competence as set out in the UK International Vocational Qualification Schem
REQUIREMENTS
- OND in Civil Engineering (Wood & Furniture Design.)
- 5 years post-graduation experience in teaching-out of which 3 years must be hands-on working knowledge of wood & furniture equipment/ devices
- Certified furniture designer in the industry
MOTOR VEHICLE TECHNICIAN – Reference Indicator: MVT/WTTC
- Help the Mechanical Instructor in safe working practices, to acquiring a Technical Certificate and or City & Guilds International Vocational Qualification up to a Level 3 Curriculum
- Help in delivering quality Mechanical Engineering training programmes with objective of progressing the Trainees to the desired level of competence as set out in the UK International Vocational Qualification Scheme
- Shall expertly diagnose vehicle problems, accurately prescribe correct repair actions and promptly deliver the required services.
- Ensure all consumables and associated materials stock are maintained at all times.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least OND in Mechanical Engineering (Automobile /Motor vehicle), or any relevant professional certificate
- 5 years post-graduation experience in workshop practices out of which 3 years must be hands-on experience
- Knowledge of modern techniques and working practice of ‘Motor vehicle engineering associated equipment/ tools/ devices on Trucks, Petrol/Diesel vehicle Engines.
COMPUTER TEACHER -11 – Reference Indicator: CPT /WTTC
- Help in training computer trainees, applying approved procedures and techniques on all subjects related to fundamentals of computer system, systems and windows operation, key boarding, spreadsheet processing methods, word/excel processing techniques, practical data processing
- Provide quality computer /IT training programs with the objective of progressing the Trainee to the desired level of competence as set out in the UK City & Guilds International Vocational Qualification Scheme
REQUIREMENYS
- HND/BSC in Computer Engineering or Science
- 5 years post-graduation experience in teaching-out of which 3 years must be hands-on working knowledge of fundamentals of computer system, systems and windows operation, key boarding, spreadsheet processing methods, word/excel processing techniques, practical data processing and using E-mail in the internet.
ASSISTANT CATERING INSTRUCTOR - Reference Indicator: ACI/WTTC
- Help in training catering and hospitality trainees in approved procedures and techniques on all types of subject related to fundamentals of the food preparation and culinary arts, food and beverage service, reception operations and service, and accommodation operations and services
- Help in planning and delivery of Hospitality and Catering programmes with the objective of progressing students to the desired level of competence as set out in the UK City & Guilds International Vocational Qualification Scheme
REQUIREMENTS
- OND or related qualification in Food Science/Technology or Hospitality and Catering related field
- 3 years post-graduation experience in related training j business outfit
- Experience in hospitality and catering environment of an international standard
BEAUTY CARE INSTRUCTOR - Reference Indicator: BCI /WTTC
- Mentor and coach Beauty care trainees applying approved procedures and techniques on all types of subject related to basics of cosmetology
- Explain aspects of physiology and anatomy of the body as they relate to cosmetology
- Ensure that students grasp the importance of safe practices for their clients, themselves and their work environment
- Develop lesson plans and demonstration sessions for hands-on training
- Monitor the use Lo of proper equipment, tools and materials in the preparation of students for their City & Guilds Co international Vocational Qualification.
REQUIREMENTS
- HND or equivalent in certified professional qualification in Beauty care /Cosmetology
- A licensed Cosmetologist with reasonable number of years of work experience
- 3 years post-graduation experience in Cosmetology related training I business activities
ASSISTANT BEAUTY CARE INSTRUCTOR - Reference Indicator: BCI-11 /WTTC
- Mentor and coach Beauty care trainees applying approved procedures and techniques on all types of subject related to basics of cosmetology explain aspects of physiology and anatomy of the body as they relate to cosmetology
- Ensure that students grasp the importance of safe practices for their clients, themselves and their work environments
- Develop lesson plans and demonstrations sessions for hands-on training
- Help in ensuring the use of proper equipment, tools and materials in the preparation of students for their City & Guilds International Vocational Qualification
REQUIREMENTS
- HND or equivalent in certified professional qualification in Beauty care /Cosmetology
- A licensed Cosmetologist with reasonable number of years of work experience
- 3 years post-graduation experience in Cosmetology related training I business activities
FASHION & DESIGN INSTRUCTOR – Reference Indicator: FDI/WTTC
- Mentor and coach Fashion & Design trainees applying approved procedures and techniques on all subjects related to basic skills of sewing and fashion designing
- Ensure safe relevant work practices in acquiring a Technical Certificate and or City & Guilds International Vocational Qualification
- Provide training as specified in the City & Guilds syllabus
REQUIREMENTS
- HND or related certified professional qualification in Fashion & Design; Textile design; Garment construction/Industrial design
- At least 5 years experience in sewing and fashion designing
- Particularly in areas of garment construction, pattern drafting, cutting, sewing and finishing
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent problem solving, time management and Communication skills
- Computer Literate
- HR Management and Fiscal Governance
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Understanding of vocational education
